MODEL MAKERS: a new MTV "Transformation
Make-Over" Reality Show

Have you always wanted to model but don't know where to start? Maybe
you don't know the right people. Maybe you are not thin enough. Maybe
you are not photogenic. MODEL MAKERS will give you the ultimate
make-over and transform you into the model of your dreams.
Women come in all shapes and sizes, but models don’t.
The term
model
conjures an image of stick-thin, towering
beauties oozing confidence, glamour,
poise and sexuality from every pore.
“Skinny,” “no
body fat,” and “size zero” are
the words and phrases associated with
models.
“Chubby,” “well-fed,” and “big- boned” are
not…
Until now!
From acclaimed Model Manager Michael
Flutie, Cris Abrego Productions and MTV, introducing “MODEL
MAKERS”, the show that dares to go where no modeling
show has gone before.
15 lucky women from around the country will get the opportunity of
a lifetime when MTV hands them over to Michael Flutie and an expert
team of trainers, nutritionists, stylists, and other industry leaders.
Under the watchful "eye" of these experts, models will endure
twelve weeks of intensive physical fitness training to help them get
down to their ideal size. Models will also compete in various high
fashion challenges to determine who has star quality. With weekly eliminations
looming, models must put their best foot forward at all times while
staying focused on losing weight.
Let MODEL MAKERS transform you. Get in shape, develop your modeling
skills and polish your "look" to achieve your ultimate goal
of becoming a high fashion model. If your transformation is successful,
you will be rewarded with not only the experience of a lifetime, but
with the MTV prize package that includes:
- $100,000
- A professional modeling portfolio
- A personal trainer for one year
- The chance to jumpstart the career of your dreams
HOW TO ENTER:
So what does it take to get on the show? “We are looking
for beautiful, charismatic women who are willing to put in the effort
to become a true model,” says Michael Flutie.

THE PRODUCERS:
CRIS ABREGO
Cris Abrego brings creativity, insight, and technical ability to
new levels as a Producer. With over 15 year’s experience in television,
Abrego is most sought after for his proven blockbuster combination
of creative ideas and brave production techniques in reality TV.
Cris currently holds a 6 series overall production deal with VH1
Networks-- his series hold overall ratings records for any VH1 program
to-date and are among the most highly talked about reality shows on
television – and recently signed a 3 series overall production
deal with MTV Networks. Cris is currently in production with “From
G’s To Gents” and “Model Maker (Working Title)” for
MTV Networks.
For Cris the road to reality started out as cub-producer for a local
news station. Cris used the newsroom as a workshop, developing his
skills in the technical aspects of television production. Moving on
to an extended run with Bunim-Murray Productions, he supervised production
and post-production for the top rated MTV show “Road Rules” for
five of it’s most successful seasons. He oversaw on-location
production in such destinations as Mexico/Central America, New Zealand,
Paris, Germany, Fiji, and Australia.
Moving into the free-lance world, Abrego became Supervising Producer
for MTV’s “FEAR”, Coordinating Producer on ABC’s
hit reality show “Making The Band”, served as Co-Executive
Producer for a major untitled reality project for CBS, and produced
and directed “Young Cops”, a cutting edge, hi-definition,
22-minute reality pilot for ABC. The first show Cris co-created
and executive produced was “Cannonball Run” for
USA Networks, a reality version of the popular movie.
Finally forming his own production company 51 Pictures in
2004, Abrego created and served as Executive Producer on NBC’s “Next
Action Star” with producing partner Joel Silver. He also
created and executive produced “MTV’s Surf girls,” “The
hitchhiker Chronicles” for FX, and “The Surreal Life” for
the WB which moved to VH1 to become one of the channel’s highest
rated series.
An opportune meeting in 2004 led Cris to embark on a joint-venture
with now producing partner Mark Cronin. The partnership taking on the
name 51 Minds Entertainment, took Cris’ creative vision
to a new level. 51 Minds has been responsible for some of
the most highly rated and notorious “celebreality” programs
in the history of television including “The Surreal Life,” “Flavor
of Love,” “My Fair Brady,” “Gotti’s Way” and “I
Love New York.”
From Celeb-reality, to docu-reality, to large formatted shows, Cris
Abrego always brings a fresh twist everything he creates. In the future,
Cris plans to expand his unique brand of reality to network television
and to develop his own feature film projects.
MICHAEL FLUTIE
"Michael Flutie has the rare and incredible ability to discover
and develop fashion models who become iconic fashion and film images," says
acclaimed fashion photographer Steven Klein.
Edgy, individual, unconventional, charismatic… These are the
hallmarks of MFO, Michael Flutie’s ground breaking talent brand
management firm. Eschewing current trends and phenomena, Michael Flutie
continues to build his career upon this philosophy. His natural aptitude
for discovering, developing, promoting and marketing talent is why
Michael excels at discovering artists and taking them to the next level
of celebrity.
Beginning in 1982 at the renowned Elite Model Management, Michael
Flutie has worked with the biggest names in the modeling business.
Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, Uma Thurman,
Frederique Van Der Wal, and Tatjana Patitz are some of the world's
top models that have been part of Michael’s roster of talent.
This is also where he learned the importance of the branded celebrity. "I
wanted clients to call and ask for a model by name, not by popular
physical characteristics … I always sought to cultivate true
individuality that the industry lacked," says Flutie. All of this
laid the groundwork for Michael’s vision of talent brand management.
With his mother Victoria by his side, Michael started Company Model
Management in 1990. There he scouted, developed, and represented models
that were beautiful but unconventional. As a result, Michael Flutie
revolutionized the qualities that define a model and reconfigured what
makes them successful in the process. "People thought I was crazy
for scouting and signing the 'girls' that I had," Flutie explains. By
not conceding to the expectations and norms of the industry, Flutie
elicited a reaction, built curiosity, and created that essential spark
of interest. "Today, you're not looking for perfection anymore," says
Michael Flutie, who routinely travels to small markets in search of
new talent. As quoted in a New York Times article, Flutie adds, "What
matters more than any particular look is a model's attitude, her ability
to project an inner life for the camera: the inner life of someone
whose surface fascinates us."
Michael’s clients have been featured in multi-national advertising
campaigns for clients such as Cover Girl, Revlon, Calvin Klein, Gucci,
Prada, and Gap and have been featured on the covers of Vogue, V, W,
Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, among others. The careers of Milla
Jovovich, Bridget Moynahan, Elle
McPherson, Jaime King, Alexis Bledel,
Beri Smither, Frankie Rayder, Lana Ogilvy, Amy Wesson, and Rachel Williams
were launched and shaped by Michael’s unique branding approach.
In 2003, Michael Flutie founded Michael Flutie's Office, a talent
and brand management firm based in New York City. MFO clients include
Jaime King, Tim McGraw, Alexis Bledel, fashion expert and
television commentator Mary Alice Stephenson, beauty expert and Emmy-winning
television star Kyan
Douglas, Green Home Expert Carter Oosterhouse, New York City dermatologist Dr. Lisa
Airan, and The Fashion Scholarship Fund.
Additionally, MFO brokers multi-million dollar endorsement
deals for its clients including Adidas,
Calvin Klein, Coty, L'Oreal Paris, Revlon, Intel, Warner Bros, Calvin
Klein, Prada, and Nautica and manages the careers of a select group
of fashion models who are represented by the international model agencies
DNA, Elite, Ford, Next, and Wilhelmina.
In 2007, Michael Flutie launched Madwood Media, developing and producing
entertainment, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content for film, television,
and exclusive online channels. Currently, Madwood is in production
with the digital broadband original series entitled "Under the
Arch" about everyday life at New York University and "Ruby
Summer" about two sisters and their dreams of becoming rock stars
in sunny California.
Michael Flutie is a member of the Hollywood Radio and Television
Society as well as the National Conference of Personal Managers. Michael
received his B.A. from New York University’s Gallatin School
of Individualized Study and currently splits his time between New York
City and Los Angeles.
